How long after I place an order will I have a complete working tank?
We aim to have the tank fully up and running at your location in just 5 weeks
What does fishless cycling mean?
We have spent a lot of time developing a system that allows us to cycle the filters ready for a full aquarium of fish on our premises using ammonia, we have developed the best system possible for this job which allows us to build up more than enough bacteria inside the filters to handle any amount of fish for any size of tank.
This means no fish are used to build up the systems, which means no harm is done to any of our fish. This process also allows us to put the full amount of fish into your tank on day one, avoiding the need to put 2 or 3 fish into the tank every 2 weeks taking 6 months to build up your full tank!
Is there any hidden costs?
No, we simply charge the daily maintenance fee and setup fee listed on the price list for the desired tank. The only other costs to yourselves are electricity, over the years aquarium equipment has been developed to allow a tank to run on very little electricity, you won’t even notice a cost increase on your bill! And insurance, most insurance companies will charge you very little also
Can I have whatever fish I want?
Yes, we list 3 different types of fish that we would recommend as we feel they provide the best for show aquariums keeping the cost as low as possible for yourselves, but of course if you know of another type of fish you would prefer we are more than capable of maintaining a tank with those fish for you.
How safe are your fish tanks ?
Safety of our tanks is our top priority and therefore all our aquariums have been designed to meet the stringent European leagal requirements for product safety. All Rent An Aquarium light units, pumps and heaters carry the Quality CE Mark and also the mark of the TÜV European Safety Standards
Is there a contract?
Yes all our setups come with a 2 year contract that protects both us and you
Are fish tanks dangerous in a workplace?
No we have spent months in research and development to make sure all our tanks are as safe to you as possible. We fit twice the amount of equipment required to every tank just incase, this provides piece of mind that fish wont be lost due to a heater fault or filtration fault.
We also insure all our tanks for accidental damage to any of your property
I don’t have a tap or drain anywhere near where I want the tank, do I have to have the tank near a tap?
Not at all, we have developed water systems which allow us to mix water on our premises and bring it to yourselves, we can also put the water being removed from your tank in barrels and pour it down a drain outside for you If access to a drainage point and fill up point is not possible
How often do you maintain the tanks?
All our 4ft and above tanks are maintained once a week, our 2ft6 and 3ft tanks are maintained once every 2 weeks. This ensures a very clean aquarium that will be the focal point of any room
How are the fish fed if you only come once a week and we don’t have to feed them?
All our tanks are fitted with automatic fish feeders locked inside the tanks which we will setup to feed the fish 2-3 times a day; we keep these topped up as part of our maintenance.
I can’t watch the tank for safety 24/7 what happens if someone puts something inside the tank whilst I’m not looking?
This won’t happen all our tanks are locked for security. No one but ourselves will be able to gain entry to the tanks
Can I see some of your aquariums before I commit to a contract?
Of course all our tanks are listed in our portfolio section with images and information. We also have our showroom based in Bowness setup with 3 different tanks and fish combinations that will allow you to see the different type of aquarium and fish we offer, to give you a very good idea of exactly what you want
What do I do if I have a problem with the tank?
If you have any problems with the tank please don’t hesitate to contact us on our 24 hour number 07816433683 we will try and solve the problem over the phone, if this is not possible we will come straight out to solve the issue for you
